Before yesterday, I happened to watch 3/4 of the movie Prince Caspian (I missed the first parts because I was sent to buy the snacks for you guys… yeah, you know who you are).
Anyway, I was expecting some kind of distortion of the story (because they did the same with the first book, and because I saw the trailers and Caspian was soooooo NOT the age he should be).
What I got, was something that at first I considered as a total perversion of the book, and I was about to lose my head with the before-last scene thing between Sue and Casp… (I actually stood up and ran away, trying to reach the chicken wings before my stomach became a knot)
I thought on the movie all Sunday.
I was so sad that many of the people around me would never know the same story C.S. Lewis told. And more saddening was the fact that… I would always know it’s not the story I know. So Sunday became one of the most gloomy days I’ve ever had.
However, that night, Ed was asking me, if it was all really twisted the way I said it was.
So I spent the night telling him all the details of the book, so that he could understand why was I so upset.
He finally concluded that it was a whole different way of telling the story, and he went on with his snore-less sleep.
“a whole different way of telling the story”, that struck me like lightning.
What right have I to judge the movie according to my expectations? Just because I know the story in another way, I’m not in the right to say the other way is bad.
I have rather ruined the movie for others, than “shedding light on the incorrect events”.
I have come to realize my mistake, and I have now regret my stubborn attitude.
The movies are a new story, one I shall now enjoy as everyone else.
Thus, this is for me, a new beginning for the Chronicles of Narnia.
Besides, they chose a tear-dropping music-theme for the end. That song is so cool.
This is another great family movie from Disney, based on a great story by C.S. Lewis.
You shouldn’t miss it.
Hello there!
I have been thinking on a playlist that suits this spring season, and I hope it “springs” you to enjoy this wonderful time of the year.
I heard this songs on Apple ads, a TV show, and from U2, of course…
Ever thought of drawing on the same page a friend is drawing… miles away from you?
This is possible thanks to GE Imagination Cubed,
an online collaborative whiteboard by GE: Imagination at work.
This fun web application let’s you and two of your friends draw and share ideas.
What are you waiting for?
Try it!

Recently, one of my favorite developers made a cool little app called skittlr.
To tell the truth, I probably like it cause it’s simple. little, and straightforward.
You can read about it, and what’s it’s purpose in here: “Skittlr - Taste the marketing”
(Notice I learned how to make links open in a new window! Yeah!)
And you can also check out how I changed some of the links I had, and I put them back in a couple of Skittlrs.
Be sure to “taste” them, or this one that I’ll use for introducing myself: My presentation Skittlr
:)
One of the several projects I have is to make an era for Wesnoth.
As some of you may know, Wesnoth is a Turn Based Strategy game, which means players get to move their units in turns, thus, sharing some of the complexities of chess (Shogi, go, checkers, etc.).
Wesnoth has a very simple coding language, to make new units, create scenarios or define new abilities for the game; the coding language goes by the name of:Wesnoth Markup Language (WML for short), which I have been using for some years now, and I’ve created some rough eras and learned the concepts of unit creation, and of always testing for syntax errors…
But more than anything, through several fails, I have learned that graphic quality, animations, and features that are easy to understand, are something important if you want your game to be accepted by most players. It took me a while to realize this, because I’m the kind of player that will play your game, even if things are still invisible, as long as the game concept is interesting; I don’t care about cool graphics and animations, I care about gameplay. But sadly for me, it looks like my brothers get discouraged when they find my units lack animation, or decent graphics.
So I will be working on studying animations from other units, and how to mimic them for my own purposes, and maybe come up with new animations.
Nevertheless I will also work on the era itself; for now, I have a goal of at least 10 units on each faction and 4 factions (namely: Air nation, fire nation, water nation, and earth nation).
Then, I can plan on releasing a beta, so that I can get feedback from players… (…my brothers)
Anyway, I will be posting my progress every once in a while. And maybe sharing some of the creation process.
So stay tuned.
It’s been a while since I started using Safari’s RSS reader.
So, as a regular user of this service, I know it saves time, and I wish that my readers can enjoy of this feature too, so, I will link to this webpage here: What is RSS? So that those who don’t know what am I talking about, can get some light on the subject.
And, for those who already know what RSS is; but don’t know how to subscribe to my site, I will create some tutorials to teach how to add my blog to an RSS reader (hopefully soon).
So keep an eye open.
EDIT: Changed the link to a more accurate page, that defines the type of RSS that my blog uses (Really Simple Syndication).
I recently read the first 5 chapters of this great book thanks to Google Book Search
It’s really thrilling, really charming, and totally awesome.
I added it to my library in GBS: Click Here to go to my library
If you have the chance… read it for me.
